The combined use of a micfil filter with a water separator also prevents bacterial growth. When the fuel flows into the unit, a vortex is created that separates the water and solid contamination. The contamination sinks to the bottom of the separator where it is retained and can be removed either manually or automatically. Optionally, a sensor can be added that gives a signal when the system is full.
